Nikon D500 DX-Format Digital SLR

CNET review:

“The Nikon D500 is fast with excellent continuous-shooting and autofocus performance, its 4K video support is a welcome novelty for its dSLR price class and, of course, there’s the great photo quality.”

Digital Photography review:

“The Nikon D500 is a 21MP APS-C DSLR capable of shooting at up to 10 frames per second and featuring an autofocus system derived from the one in the D5. In other words, it’s exactly the kind of high-end DX format body that appeared to have become extinct with the D300S.”

TechRadar review:

“At last Nikon has a professional-level APS-C-format camera to replace the D300S and compete with Canon’s EOS 7D Mk II. It’s a fantastic DSLR that’s packed with pro-spec features, including an impressive AF system and great low-light credentials that enable it to produce high-quality pictures in a wide range of conditions.”

Photography Life review:

“The D500 takes its place at the top of the Nikon APS-C (“crop sensor”) format camera body lineup as a true flagship model and as the undisputed, long dreamed of replacement for the D300S. Given the specifications, I think we have to conclude that it is simply the sensor size that prevents Nikon from considering it a “professional” camera.”
