Gresham Palace Budapest

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, Budapest

CNN review:

“With its two-million-piece mosaic tiled floor, 19th-century stained glass roof panels and intricate ironwork, the Four Seasons in Budapest is an art nouveau masterpiece. Rooms are spacious and luxe with vaulted ceilings and marble bathrooms”

Lonely Planet review:

“No expense was spared to piece back together the palace’s Zsolnay tiles, mosaics, and celebrated wrought-iron Peacock Gates leading north, west and south from the enormous lobby – the hotel is truly worthy of its name.”

Fodors review:

“It doesn’t get much better than this: a centrally located, super-deluxe hotel in a museum-quality landmark with the prettiest views in town.”

Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Budapest.

Frommers review:

“From the attentive staff to the Zsolnay tiles and Miksa Roth glass work, this is arguably Budapest’s finest hotel. It sits directly opposite the Chain Bridge on the Pest side, and more than a quarter of the 179 rooms overlook the Danube, making for a fairytale view of Buda Castle across the river.”

Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Budapest.

The Hotel Gresham Palace sets a superior quality standard even as a luxury hotel in Budapest. The building was originally commissioned in 1904 by London’s Gresham Life Assurance Society. Its stained glass, marble lobby and thick carpeted corridors ensure guests are immersed in the luxurious atmosphere by just stepping through the front doors. Godly statues and stylish floral motifs in turquoise and gold colors add an elegant touch to the proud stature of the building.

The hotel sits at the Eastern end of the chain Bridge and is ideally located for guests to enjoy the best Budapest has to offer in tourist attractions. Scenic views of the Hills of Buda and the Danube can be seen from the building.

Each room is artfully decorated and spacious. Features include wired and wireless internet, iPod docking station, satellite TV and an en suite marble covered bathroom with a spacious bathtub or shower cabin. Some of these rooms even include a step-out balcony with views of the Castle Hill and the Danube River. To feed their appetites, guests can dine in with 24-hour room service or visit the renowned restaurant. The hotel is even family friendly with connecting rooms so the whole gang can visit.
