Palace Hotel San Francisco

Palace Hotel, San Francisco

New York Times review:

“The refurbished Palace Hotel, reopened in June 2015, has gone through several iterations since it first opened in 1875. The latest renovation modernized rooms, the gym and the skylit swimming pool, leaving intact the early 20th-century neo-Classical ambience.”

CNN review:

“The Palace’s ceiling is worth more than some entire hotels. With a soaring stained glass ceiling, marble floors and mammoth chandeliers, the Palace summons the San Francisco of yesteryear.”

Frommers review:

“Enter the Palace Hotel and its stunning Garden Court and you might think you’ve stepped into a Parisian castle. Marble columns, massive chandeliers, crowned by an atrium of over 80,000 panes of stained glass, will take your breath away.”

Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in San Francisco.

With roots dating back to the 1800s, the Palace Hotel of San Francisco is an iconic landmark located at the south west corner of Market and New Montgomery streets. The current hotel is sometimes referred to as the “New” Palace Hotel. This distinguishes it from the original 1875 Palace Hotel built. That structure had been destroyed by the fire caused by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. With its rich history, the Palace Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America.

With the original architecture still in place, the hotel pairs authentic elements with modern décor. This one of a kind style is filled with light and warm colors. This Palace is truly fit for royalty but affordable to everyone. This luxurious style is extended to the accommodations for guests. There are several room options to choose from and every one is suitable for a king or queen. The rooms feature 11-foot ceilings, sophisticated furniture, beds with expansive headboards and more in an expensive list of elegant features.

Guests can visit many key attractions when not enjoying the hotel. These include Union Square, Cartoon Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center For The Arts and American Conservatory Theater. Reimagined from the “old” Palace Hotel, this hotel is truly befitting to be called a Palace.
